Momwell is a dedicated virtual platform offering specialized maternal mental health care designed to support individuals navigating this transformative life stage. We provide one-on-one therapy sessions, along with educational resources and a supportive community to help those trying to conceive, expecting, experiencing loss, or adjusting to motherhood. To expand our reach and impact, we are seeking compassionate and skilled mental health therapists to join our team.

What is the Role?

The Virtual Maternal Mental Health Therapist will:

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations and assessments of clients, including reviewing medical histories and formulating diagnoses.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for clients.
  • Provide evidence-based, client-centered clinical care to individuals that aligns with the Momwell care model.
  • Utilize client-reported data in session with patients (measurement-based care) to inform treatment plans.
  • Monitor and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on clients’ progress or changing clinical needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including in our electronic health record system, in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing mental health practice.
  • Full-time (Appx. 25 hours per week) and Part-time positions (Appx. 10 hours per week) are available.
  • Independent contract role
  • All therapists connect with our team of therapists through team meetings, peer supervisions, and ongoing group chats.

Requirements:

  • Valid and active mental health practitioner licence (MSW, RP) in Canadian province(s).
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a fully licensed mental health practitioner.
  • Private practice experience is a MUST!
  • Ability to work independently in a 100% virtual environment.
  • Experience working in women’s health or perinatal mental health
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on a client-centered care model.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare software.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
  • Willingness to obtain the Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) via Postpartum Support International.

Ideal Candidate Characteristics:

  • Additional provincial licensures 
  • Has strong technical skills and experience providing teletherapy on a virtual platform
  • A flexible and curiosity-based approach to problem-solving
  • Self-starter with a passion for women’s health
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve while participating in a team environment
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
